RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) Directive (EU) was established by WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment), February, 2003, and became effective since 1st July, 2006, to restrict use of hazardous substances in electronic or electric devices.
Six hazardous substances; Cd, Pb, Hg, Cr6+, PBB (Polybrominated Biphenyls), and PBDE (Polybrominated diphenyl ethers) were prohibited from using.
Similar systems are being implemented worldwide, including China, Japan, USA and Korea, with varying applicability, thus, requiring confirmation for exportation to these countries.
